New Designers 'one year on'

I just wanted to post a few pictures from my week down in London for New Designers. I was thrilled when I found out I had been chosen to exhibit, and after a long journey with possibly the heaviest suitcase in history, I made it to the capital excited to exhibit alongside other up and coming designer makers. Below are some images of me and my stand, Rachel Powell, a lovely lady who was launching a range of simple but stunning wallpaper prints, tea towels and high end veneer lamp. Finally, Louise Tiler (last years New Designer of the year) with her intricate gorgeous prints and products and . We had a fun week chatting, laughing and of course meeting industry contacts. Things have been hectic since I got home, and there are some exciting projects in the pipeline. Watch this space for more updates :)

I am thrilled to announce that my Not on the High Street Shop has launched! I am really excited to hopefully start selling more online, and of course be featured next to all of the gorgeous products on the site. I spent the day taking photos back in June, and after many hours spent editing, I am really happy with the results. You can view and buy my products by clicking here, hope you like!

Final Day in London

I was in London for New Designer's One Year On last week (will post pics soon-ish...) and I spent my last morning in London going around Old Spitalfields market. After an expensive few weeks I was feeling rather skint, so a market full of unique and interesting products was probably not the best place to go. I stumbled across a stall of up-cycled leather bags made by a lovely lady who was very patient when I ummed and ahh-ed about whether to get a bag. I didn't and thought I would email later in the year to purchase one when my bank balance was a bit healthier. Totally regretted it and have now messaged her saying I need one NOW!
Her company is called Yildiz & I and you can view the facebook page here.

Below are a few images from her facebook page

I am loving Instagram at the moment so took a few snaps of buildings and things in around the market. Can't wait for my next visit to London!

Stockist - Whitby Book Shop

I just wanted to write a little post about one of my local stockists: Whitby Book Shop. If anyone has visited before you will know it is a fantastic store, with a varied and interesting collection of books, greetings cards and gifts. I was thrilled when they wanted to place a card and tea towel order with me. I went to drop off some more stock today and got a few photos, although the rain has been torrential on the North York coast all day so the pics have a bit of rain in them!

The bookshop is located on Church Street, on the 'old' side of the river. It is up a cobbled street lined on either side with fudge, rock, gift and jet jewellery shops. The street leads to the famous 199 steps, at the top of which is Whitby Abbey. This part of town if full of quirk and charm, and is a great place to visit!

Celebrating Britain

With the Jubilee, Olympics and everything else British to be celebrated this year, there is obviously an abundance of British themed designs adorning almost every product imaginable! I decided to compile a blog post of my favourite products with the theme of London/Britain that are around right now.
